About The Summit

Principals are the key to improving schools. However, school leaders do not get better by themselves. To ensure an effective principal leads every school, district leaders must prioritize principal development and create a robust system of support orchestrated by principal supervisors and the central office.

Skilled principal supervisors strategically balance coaching and supervision, providing focused, intentional, and timely support.  Principal supervisors also must ensure the central office is informed and positioned to adapt to schools'  daily needs.  To achieve transformative results, the entire central office must act with coherence as they support schools and school leaders.

Leaders Developing Leaders will support system leaders to create a seamless system of principal support, development, and supervision. By aligning central office functions with the needs of school leaders, districts can transform schools into dynamic environments of learning and achievement.

Leaders Developing Leaders will delve into effective practices that empower principal supervisors and align central office for maximum impact on school leaders and students.

Develop strategies to:

  • Position principal supervisors to effectively support and develop principals
  • Align central office practices to maximize impact on school leaders
  • Create system-wide coherence and a clear line of accountability for student success
  • Develop school system expectations for principal support, development, and supervision
  • Align pre-service training programs to principals’ needs
  • Create actionable plans tailored to your school system’s needs

You will leave with concrete resources and action plans that you can put into practice immediately.  We look forward to seeing you at the 2026 Summit in Baltimore, Maryland!
